Pool Hose converted to use for shop vac or central vacuum
thingiverse
I needed a hose for my garage that would work seamlessly with my home central vacuum system since I already had a port installed in the garage. I required a long enough hose to effectively vacuum out both my car and truck. After researching commercial hoses, I was dismayed to find they were prohibitively expensive. Then, I discovered that pool hoses are available at significantly lower prices and boast the same durability as CV and shop vac hoses. I found a 30ft hose on Amazon for approximately $25. The pool fittings attached to the hose were incompatible with either my CV or my shop vac. So, I severed the ends of the hose and created custom fittings using Tinkercad, drawing inspiration from existing designs I found in Thingiverse. Additionally, I divided the hose into two shorter segments (10ft and 20ft) to make them more manageable for specific tasks, and built a union fitting to reconnect them when needed for extended reach. I designed a fitting that directly plugs into my Central Vacuum, another that fits my Shop Vac, one that attaches to the nozzles, and a union fitting to join two hoses together.
