I'm using a hose flange/nozzle that connects directly to the output on an Intex Sand-style filter. My drainage hose only had slip-in ends, not screw-on connections, so I made some adjustments. The hose itself comes from the pool section of Home Depot and appears to be a standard 2-inch diameter. As a trial run, I hot-glued the end onto the hose and it's still holding up well.
