Pool Eyeball (Nozzle) Removal Tool
pinshape
This tool slips into 1-1/2" MIP thread pools called "eyeballs" (or nozzles) and allows you to unscrew or screw them in easily. It fits a Hayward SP1419D perfectly. Make sure to print this part using a strong, rigid filament because old eyeballs can become calcified and difficult to remove! The example was printed with AmazonBasics Premium black PLA and seemed sturdy enough. If the tool starts to bend while unscrewing the old eyeball, you'll need self-adjusting pliers like Robo Grip or similar. You may also have to break off a notch of threads on the old part and whack it with scrap wood and a hammer to free it from its calcium prison. Don't screw in the new eyeball too tightly! Also, use PTFE (Teflon) tape on the threads for easier removal in the future.
