I was searching here one day to see if I could find a STL for a set of cue stick joint protectors I could make myself, but only found this one (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2118833) by [bkrcmetalworks](https://www.thingiverse.com/bkrcmetalworks/about), which did not fit right on my cue as mine has a collar on the shaft so they wouldn't sit flush. Since I couldn't find any other designs, I decided to get to work and design some for myself. These are for 5/16-18 threaded joints that use a collar where the shaft meets the butt (see photos for example). I printed these out of PLA but recommend PETG or ABS for maximum impact resistance. They also won't melt if you leave your cue in the car on a hot summer day. For the male end that threads into the shaft, suggest using either a higher % infill or an infill that is more dense as my usual 15% grid pattern left the threaded section pretty much hollow and my first printed one broke off from twisting torque. The second print was done with 20% using Gyroid pattern and had much better strength. The female one for the butt end worked fine with my usual infill.
