PONYO SUN CATCHER
prusaprinters

My daughter is into her Anime, I've been working on sun catchers of late. So ... here's Ponyo.

This is a sun catcher printed without fancy multi-material mechanisms.

The frame acts like the lead in a stained glass window. It needs to be printed in transparent filament with a change to black at the layer where the lead lines would be.

Once completed, the coloured pieces are then glued into the relevant "gaps" in the frame. I used PVA glue and allowed it to set over a number of days.

The tolerances are really tight, so you may need to sand the parts down a little to make them fit depending on your printers tolerances.

Print instructions

Category: 2D Art Print Settings

Printer Brand: Prusa

Printer: i3 MK3

Rafts: No

Supports: No

Resolution: 0.1mm

Filament: n/a PLA / PET
Notes:

It needs to be printed in transparent filament with a change to black at the layer where the lead lines would be.

Smaller parts may need a brim.

Care must be taken when removing from the print bed as they are between 0.5mm and 1.0mm thick.
