Pontiac Firebird Radio Delete Plate (1970 - 1977)
thingiverse
(Final version of this work in progress should be posted by 3/14/23) All these parts are intended to fit 1970-77 Pontiac Firebirds, Trans Am etc. Delete Plate with Stanchions: This is a full copy of the OEM radio delete plate. Designed to be used with the Insert-Glue-In file which can be glued to the face to achieve a nice OEM style satin finish. Print with the front face down, use 10% supports, no roof or support interface and the supports will peel right off the front. Then glue on the Insert-Glue-in piece and you are ready to install in car. Installs using 3/16" speed nuts on the back like the OEM delete plate. Print time about 6 hours at 35mm/s, should print decent at 50mm/s : Revision 1, added the proper radius on back edge : Revision 2, changed corner radius in lower corners. Insert-Glue-In: This is a very thin sheet print used as an insert for the print above. Necessary if you want the nice satin finish on the front. You can also modify this part for color, text, graphics ... whatever you want. Prints in an hour or so at 50mm/s You'll want to use PETG filaments since PLA is unlikely to tolerate the heat inside a vehicle on a sunny day. By "speed nuts" (or PAL Nuts) I mean the stamped metal cheesy nuts that form their own threads. Auto makers in the 60's 70's used them all over the place. I assume if you need this delete plate that you know what I'm talking about.
