The Bornean Orangutan Pongo pygmaeus Makes a Strong Impression. In the animal kingdom, no primate species stands out more than the Bornean orangutan. A male, adult orangutan caught our attention with its remarkable features and behaviors observed during our visit to the Barcelona Zoo in Spain on November 6, 2001. The specimen's ulna bone in its right forelimb caught our eye due to its unique characteristics. As we carefully examined this intriguing creature, we were struck by its overall appearance and behavior, making a lasting impression on us.
