Pongo pygmaeus (Linnaeus, 1760) is a Bornean Orangutan found in the wild. The species was first identified by Carl Linnaeus in his groundbreaking work on classification and taxonomy. This orangutan specimen, designated MZB 2001-0286, has a distinct left humerus that sets it apart from others of its kind. Adult males like this one are notable for their impressive physical stature and robust build. In 2001, the specimen was collected by zoo professionals at the Barcelona Zoo in Spain on November 6th of that year.
