Pongo pygmaeus, a species of orangutan native to Borneo, is classified as Pongo pygmaeus. This large primate roams the jungles of Borneo with its distinctive reddish-brown fur and long arms, which reach up to 6 feet in length. Male Pongo pygmaeuses are known for their robust build and broad chest, weighing between 60-90 kg (132-198 lbs) on average. They live a solitary life, often using tree branches as a means of transportation. The specimen in question is a male adult from the Zoo de Barcelona in Spain, collected on November 6th, 2001. The vertebra C3 was preserved for further study and analysis.
