The design of the Pong console is centered around the AY-3-8500 chip, which dictates its circuit layout. This custom-designed circuit boasts a composite video output, enabling multiple game selection options along with single or multiplayer modes. Although the console is optimized to run on 9V batteries, it's highly recommended to integrate a linear voltage regulator circuit for seamless operation from mains power. The design of the paddle controllers and console casing were crafted using Freecad software. Each controller features two distinct versions: one for the bottom half and two different top halves. The controller_top-v2.stl version boasts a raised ring measuring 10mm in height, accompanied by an empty text box. In contrast, the controller-top_lower-debossed-text.stl version also has a 10mm high raised ring but features debossed PONG text within its text box. To simplify the identification of switch functions, printed labels are recommended for use. The schematics and bill of materials (BOM) for this project are readily available.
