Pond Scum Sucker
thingiverse
My first attempt at crafting a pond scum sucker, essentially a venturi/injector in a box, is finally underway. Simply insert your garden hose into the inlet and attach another hose to the outlet for waste water. 2016-05-24 UPDATE: After printing this design, I encountered some issues that prevent it from functioning as intended. To rectify this, I'm currently redesigning it, so please bear with me until a working model is posted. 2016-05-26 UPDATE: I'm diligently working on refining the design to achieve better results. At present, my prototype can manage to draw in a small amount of water despite using a considerable volume of water. However, my main problem lies in tiny holes within the print that compromise the suction power by allowing air to equalize through them. I anticipate posting a revised version within the next week or so and have already brainstormed several ideas for further improvement. 2016-08-21 UPDATE: I've uploaded Rev 4 of the pond scum sucker, which is currently my most effective design yet.
