(no need to seal the filter support) video: https://youtu.be/YWFMRRkYh6w This filter is used with Bestway type 1 cartridges (possibly with another brand with the same dimensions 7.8x7.8x9 cm). With this system the water in my pond became transparent in 3 days. (it was green I could not see the bottom of my pond of 1700 liters) The filter is placed above the water in the pond. The water comes from your pump through the side inlet (10 / 12 mm hose), passes through the filter and falls back into the pond through the hole at the bottom. When the filter is saturated, the water will rise, and pass over the filter to return to the pond through the middle hole. Simply clean the filter with a jet of water with good pressure and put it back. Do not use with a pump that is too powerful (mine is 1000 L/hour) Since the filter is not in the water you can paint or decorate it as you like. Dimensions: 10 x 10 x 10 cm
