Polypanels // Planter Panels

myminifactory

Remixing basic geometric polypanels by Devin Montes into customizable succulent planters is a game-changer. Pick your planter panel, select your shape panels, and unleash your creativity through the endless design possibilities that await you. The pentagon planter panel offers two depths - 30 mm and 20 mm - to accommodate plants of varying sizes. This feature ensures that larger or smaller plants receive the perfect amount of space they need to thrive. Square and rhombus planter panels are slightly smaller than their pentagonal counterpart, while the triangle is the smallest option available - ideal for mini succulents that require extra care. Future improvements to this concept will involve designing planter panels using diverse polypanel shapes and sizes. Moreover, these panels can be easily combined with specialty panels such as magnets or loops to post on metal surfaces, allowing you to hang your planters outside in the garden. These panels were printed on my Creality CR-10S using Hatchbox wood PLA filament. Achieving 100% infill yields the best results, and omitting supports ensures a smooth printing process. After printing, dark-colored panels were lightly sanded before being stained with Varathane Premium Fast Dry Wood Stain (Dark Walnut). To protect the plastic from degradation due to dirt and water over time, planter panels were coated twice with Rust-oleum Crystal Clear Enamel and allowed to air dry for three days. I extend my gratitude to Devin and MyMiniFactory for providing hours of enjoyable polypanel printing and this exciting design contest opportunity.
