PolyPanel Raspberry Pi holder
myminifactory
This is an innovative contribution to the PolyPanels design competition. A versatile holder frame is designed for various Raspberry Pi models, including the Raspberry Pi 3 model A on a 2x2 PolyPanel square and the Raspberry Pi 3 model B on a 3x2 PolyPanel rectangle. The Raspberry Pi 2 also fits seamlessly into this design. As of September 5th, 2019, panels for the Raspberry Pi 4 model B are now available. I have updated all STL files to clearly indicate which Pi generation and model they are designed for. Raspberry Pi boards can be easily inserted and released without any tools, thanks to a clever meander spring in the base plate. For added mechanical stability of the base plate, users can opt for STL files with stiffening bars (indicated by "bar" in the file name). This design was created using OpenSCAD, after initial attempts with the PolyPanel design library by Jason Kronz resulted in STL errors. The current 3D files utilize imported PolyPanel snaps from https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-polypanels-snaps-only-89595. More versions of this Raspberry Pi holder design can be found on http://bastelstube.rocci.net/projects/MBS30_RasPi-Halter/RasPi-Halter.html. If a printer has limitations on large designs, such as those up to 140 mm, users can try out the Raspberry Pi Model B holder on a 2x2 PolyPanel square. This design pushes the Raspberry Pi to the edge of the panel and cuts open the moving part of the Pi holder hooks for added accessibility. The PolyPanel snaps have been removed in this area as well. For those who prefer a completely closed Raspberry Pi case in PolyPanels, my other entry is available at https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-93041.
