Polyhedral Light String Ornaments

Create a stunning display of mathematically inspired lights by crafting complex polyhedra shapes! Each ornament showcased here - including Snub Cube, Great Rhombicuboctahedron, Great Rhombicosidodecahedron, Dysdyakis Dodecahedron and Deltoidal Hexecontahedron - is a polyhedron carefully exported from Mathematica and then skillfully stellated in TopMod. Holes for string attachment were added using Tinkercad; these can be easily modified if your lights are larger or smaller than mine: tinkercad.com/things/580kDMoSqiE-polyornaments-1 The intricate design process will be documented on this blog later this week, located at www.mathgrrl.com/hacktastic. For best printing results, optimize settings for a .3mm layer height without supports. While this may cause minor imperfections in the lower and upper layers, they blend in with the string of lights making it nearly unnoticeable.
