PolyGauge with Magnets

PolyGauge with Magnets

thingiverse

Excited by Bwolfey's design on Thingiverse for the poly gauge, I've made some minor tweaks: instead of fitting press mounting of the knob, I've embedded some strong magnets into the print. This lets the knob snap into place perfectly. Added four magnets in total (various sizes) can help, but two 10mm x 4mm are enough to get the job done. Just make sure to position them opposite each other - one with North facing up and the other South facing up - so you can insert the knob from either side. To place the magnets, I used PrusaSlice 2.1, which allows me to add a filament change right before where the magnet positions would be placed in the print. This way, there's no need to switch filaments, and the printing process will pause just long enough for you to easily insert the magnets.
