Polybar Remix - With Nuts
thingiverse
A few minor modifications to a real nice design: I modified the fretboard, neck extension, and body top half to use M4 bolts with nuts. I was worried about the durability of threading a bolt directly into the plastic. On the body top half, I also added m3 nuts to where the strum bar is attached. I was able to get the nuts firmly in with just a hammer. I did not heat press them, but that may have been better. There is also a fret top thinner file, where I removed 1mm from where fret buttons would rebound to, as when bolted down, I had two buttons that were held down, constantly triggering. This was using the remixed elephant foot buttons. I am thinking of printing out a small gasket in TPU of maybe 0.5mm to soften some of the rebound noise when the switches spring back out. I also modified the buttons on the body for aesthetics. I would like to add a foot around the whammy button, as that sometime falls out. The whammy button has the Wham Bam! company logo, Star power is a nautical compass, and the start and select buttons are triangles to match the Xbox 360 controller layout. I also had to modify the base bottom cap as I bolted the encoder board to the base, but my alignment was off, so the board stuck out a few mm past the end of the body. The strum bar for me is a little too light and easy to move. I put a M5 washer on one side, and a M4 washer on the other side. With a M5 washer on both sides, the was too much friction for the strum bar to rebound back to center.
