Poly-Snaps: Tiles for Building Polyhedra

Poly-Snaps: Tiles for Building Polyhedra

myminifactory

These tiles fit together perfectly to form polyhedra in any shape you choose! Regular, semi-regular, truncated, stellated, or totally unique - it's up to you.\r\nGet instant access to pre-made sets of compact or light Poly-Snap tiles, or create your own using the included .scad file. The compact tiles are the blue, white, and black ones in the main picture; they're super sturdy and hard to snap together, so they make incredibly strong models that can withstand rough handling. The light tiles are larger and shown in the red picture; these are easier to disassemble and reassemble, print quickly, but the models may be slightly less robust.\r\nKeep in mind that you might need to adjust the tolerances for your snaps depending on your printer, filament, temperature, elevation from sea level, day of the week, and other factors. You can easily modify these settings by tweaking parameters in the .scad file using the free program OpenSCAD.\r\nDetailed step-by-step guides on how we used OpenSCAD to create Poly-Snaps for specific models are available at the links below: Truncated Tetrahedron Octahedron Truncated Octahedron Snub Cube Icosidodecahedron Icosahedron\r\n=====\r\nFollow me on Twitter at twitter.com/mathgrrl\r\nVisit my Hacktastic blog at mathgrrl.com/hacktastic\r\nShop for Shapeways geekhaus products at shapeways.com/shops/mathgrrl\r\nThis design and all associated images and files are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike license.
