POLISI3D Ender Enclosure Light Clip

POLISI3D Ender Enclosure Light Clip

I purchased a "POLISI3D" enclosure for my Ender 3v2 printer. I really like everything about it, minus the included LED light Y-Rail clip. Seen here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0987W5LF1 When printing with high heat, the included light clip heats to the point that it deforms and made the LED light fall onto my print bed. This happened on the very first high temp print. The included clip looks to be made of white 3d printed PLA. I contacted the company and they sounded like they would help me by supplying the .STL file of the clip which could be printed in high-temp ABS plastic, but they are on a national holiday for at least another few days. I'm no CAD pro at this stage of the hobby, so here's how I created this. 1. Place PLA clip onto flatbed photo scanner. 2. Take scanned image and import to Photoshop. 3. Take just the scanned shape, ensure that the full shape outline is selected/covered, then mask with black. 4. Use Photoshop to make the Y-Rail (This is the part that failed) portion of the clip have a slight bow for extra strength. 5. Import the black image into Microsoft 3D Builder, extrude a shape. 6. Measure the original clip with calipers, then scale 3D model to be the same accurate size. 7. Print in CURA with ABS. Used brim. (230C(T)/110C(B)) 8. Attach to printer! To my surprise and delight, it worked the first time I tried it. It has a good positive snap when installed and feels very tight and sturdy. The ABS has not deformed or melted again even after several day-long high temp prints. I hope this helps someone else!
