Koliber MOT-601 was unveiled in February 1961 at the 1st National Exhibition of Radio Components in Warsaw, marking a significant milestone in radio history. Produced at the Eltra Radio Works in Bydgoszcz, this innovative receiver represented an improved version of the Eltra receiver. Its most notable design feature was the incorporation of a push-pull output amplifier. Notably, all transistors were imported. Koliber 2 MOT-611 boasted a range of significant upgrades over its predecessor, including a full range of long waves and the use of Polish transistors in a low-frequency amplifier. Additionally, modern alloy diffusion transistors were used in the mixer and intermediate frequency amplifier, providing enhanced performance. The Koliber 3 MOT-633 introduced several key improvements over the Koliber 2, including the use of Polish transistors throughout all stages of the receiver. Moreover, it featured a cascode on two transistors in the first stage of the intermediate frequency amplifier. This cutting-edge design was complemented by a headphone socket and a clock adapter socket, enabling users to easily turn off the receiver. By around 1967, the Kolibry series had given way to the Sylwia receiver, a simplified version of the Koliber 3 that omitted the cascode stage but retained the same printed circuit board. Despite these changes, the individual versions remained remarkably consistent in terms of operational and technical parameters. Hummingbirds, as they were affectionately known, came in a variety of colors and housing designs.
