Pole Ski
thingiverse
Pole Ski 270mm long without the jet nozzle. The system uses two 2000mah 18550 batteries, which fit down the sides of the jet unit. These batteries originated from a laptop battery with a dead cell. Additional power is still needed; it may be possible to squeeze in a third cell or devise an alternative solution. The nozzle needs to be angled upward slightly as it is pushing the front downward. This issue will likely be resolved soon. Three bearings (3x7x3) are installed in the nozzle, and one bearing is located on a 150mm long 3mm shaft. A Baby Beast 2206 motor might be more effective with a higher KV rating. The impeller should be printed twice and then glued together. Date: 20/11/18 An upwardly angled nozzle has been added, resulting in a less submarine-like appearance. However, the system remains severely underpowered; perhaps a 4500kv motor would be suitable for use with two cells. The existing Baby Beast 2150kv motor is too slow. Date: 9/12/18 Three different pitch impellers have been installed (untested). It may be necessary to modify the hull's bottom surface to improve its buoyancy. Date: 04/02/20 This design has undergone significant revisions. The system is now 230mm long without the nozzle, and a new hull shape has been created for better flotation capabilities. A larger jet is also in use, powered by two 450mah 2s batteries that fit down the sides of the jet. The assembly process is nearing completion, and testing will soon follow. It's possible that this system will be uploaded as a new project instead of being added to the existing one.
