Have you ever wanted to make a custom skin for your SX-70? Well, now you can! This file shows the exact dimensions to cut the leather or whatever other material you'd like to use, so that the only limit now is your imagination. Do you want to make a ruggedized Job Pro-esque camera? Just cut up an old mousepad and stick it on there? Perhaps 3D-print a sculpted skin? Do emulsion lifts and put a Polaroid on your Polaroid? (Yo dawg...) It's all yours, just plop the SVG into your favorite cutting or modeling software and take it away. There are four separate documents available here, each in multiple formats: - The simple outline (empty.svg, empty.dxf): these are designed for cutting leather or other flexible materials. This one is tight to the edges, providing you with a perfect fit. - A reduced outline (hard.svg, hard.dxf) designed for hard skins such as wood, metals, PCB art, or most forms of 3D printing. This has a 0.4mm tolerance between the edge and the material, allowing you plenty of space for manufacturing inaccuracies while still looking proper on your camera. - Technical drawings, in both PDF and SVG form, in both A4 and US letter size. These are 1:1 scale to their respective paper format, doubling as a cutout template if you'd like to make the skin at home, and also double as a description of exactly what it consists of. - The FreeCAD file, which is the "source code" to the entire project, to give you complete control over any possible modifications. The "hard" sketch in this one also allows you to quickly and easily change the tolerances for a hard skin, provided of course that FreeCAD doesn't decide to die at the moment. As a side note, some cameras, particularly earlier models, do not have a tripod hole, if you're cutting a skin for one of those, it's best to just delete the circle from the cut file.
