Polaris scope Light
thingiverse
This gadget connects directly into the front port of the Celestron AVX mount, providing a reliable light source for the polarscope when inserted into the mount for precise polar alignment purposes. The wiring is straightforward and easy to manage, with routing provided in the print model for added convenience. If desired, the potentiometer can be swapped out with a fixed resistor of approximately 15K ohms. A CR2032 battery is securely held in place by a tightly fitting cap, eliminating the need for screw holes. The positive pole of the cell is positioned at the bottom and connected to it via a small brass washer where the lead is soldered onto. A small spring is inserted under the cap and the negative lead is soldered to it. Two files are included: Polariscopelight.stl, which can be resized if necessary for optimal performance. A small hole was later drilled in the bottom of the battery compartment allowing easy removal of the battery and access to the battery hatch.
