Polaris General Drain Plug
thingiverse
## What is it? This is a replacement drain plug for the floor of my Polaris General. I lost one and thought I'd try designing a new one. ## How do I use it? This is just half the plug. Print two of these halves and glue them together. I put alignment pin holes on them that should fit 5mm dowel pins, which are easy to find anywhere. You can get those pins at any store, like Amazon. If you print it from ABS, you can solvent weld them. PLA prints will need glue instead. It doesn't matter what kind of glue you use because there's no stress on the joint when in use. The drain hole actually holds the halves together. ## What does it fit? It fits perfectly in my 2017 Polaris General 4 seater. This might also fit other Polaris machines, but I have no way to check that. If you find out it fits other machines, I'd love to hear from you. It should be at least as watertight as the original plug, which aren't very water tight anyway. These plugs cover more area than the originals, so they might be better. You should print an extra one for your glovebox too. It would be no fun to lose a plug on the trail and have to ride with wet feet. ## Where are the design files? The design was done in OnShape, and it's public, so you can tweak it for your own use. If you find any design improvements or want to use it as is, please leave a comment.
