Polaris Bag Clamp
thingiverse
UPDATE I made some adjustments to my initial print that works for now but cracked and my second print failed again. The first print had a larger inside diameter and wall thickness than the model, as well as more perimeters and infill. It snapped into place without cracking, but it took a lot of force and broke off the velcro loop. I'm trying a third time with the modified file, this time using only two perimeters and 30% infill. The 2 perimeter, 30% infill worked well. It was quite difficult to snap on. I'm wondering if the first version with three perimeters and 30% infill would be successful... hmm. One of my Polaris pool vacuum filter bag clamps broke. The clips come with the bags and I usually have a stash of old ones from when the bag tears before the clip breaks. Unfortunately, I'm all out and the bag still has some life left in it. The pictures are from my first attempt. It was printed as a test with PLA, 2 perimeters, and 15% infill. It cracked when I snapped it around the hose post. Version two has a slightly larger inside diameter to ease stress on the part when snapping into place, and I'm going to print it with 60% infill and three perimeters. Earlier this summer, I threw a calibration print (PLA) into the pool to see how it would hold up. After three months, the color had faded slightly but it was still strong and hadn't delaminated at all. This is my first work-focused part that I've printed with the intent of leaving in the pool for an extended period. Print Settings Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3mm Infill: 30% Notes: 2 perimeters.
