Polargraph: Motor mounts and Belt tensioners (for Makelangelo 5)
thingiverse
These parts, namely motor mounts and belt tensioners, are designed for use in a DIY Makelangelo 5 drawing robot. Makelangelo's 3D printable parts can be found on Thingiverse, but if you didn't purchase their kit, you'll discover that some parts are missing, like motor mounts, which are wooden components, or other parts that aren't useful when building your own robot. These parts aim to reduce the overall number of components in both the original thing and the Makelangelo drawing robot. Compared to the original 3D model on Thingiverse: - A screw is required to fix the position of the belt tensioner, instead of a spring - Belt_Wrap and End-cap are no longer needed - An additional screw can be used to secure the part to a panel where the belt hook will be applied - Chamfers have been added so that supports are unnecessary - The overall height has been increased to 26mm to accommodate NEMAs Regarding implementation for Makelangelo drawbot: - Holes have been added to fix endstops to the part - Lateral counterweights, which keep tensioned the belt, are no longer necessary - A small space has been created to organize endstops cables
