This drawing robot is powered by 2 high-torque stepper motors, an Arduino Uno microcontroller and a G-Shield interface board. The modular design of the machine allows for easy scaling up to produce massive drawings, simply by extending the length of the timing belt. To maintain precise drawing control, the timing belt must be carefully tensioned: several long M16 hex nuts and bolts are attached to a weights holder system. All pulleys feature embedded bearings to minimize friction and ensure smooth operation.
