I'm installing a Polar V650 bike mount on my road bike and I need to fit it to my 32mm handle bar. The manufacturer's specs say it should fit snugly, but the first time I tried to attach it, I found that it was a bit too tight. To get it to fit properly, I had to take out my trusty file and carefully sand down the triangular grips until they were small enough for the mount to slide onto smoothly. The design of the mount is straightforward, with a simple bracket that attaches directly to the handle bar. However, I did notice that the mount could be improved by tweaking its design slightly. I'm thinking about making some adjustments later on to see if I can come up with an even better fit. Here are the details for printing this bike mount: Material: I'll be using PLA plastic, which is a popular choice for 3D printing due to its durability and ease of use. Speed: The print speed will be set at 40mm/s, which should give me a good balance between quality and speed. Raft: To ensure that the print adheres properly to the build plate, I'll be using a raft. However, since this is a bike mount, it's not necessary to include supports on both sides of the model. Just a top and bottom layer will do. Quality: The resolution of the print will be set at 0.15mm, which should give me a smooth finish that's perfect for handling rough road conditions. Infill: I'll be using an infill percentage of 25%, which should provide enough strength for the bike mount without making it too heavy. Supports: Again, since this is a bike mount, I won't need to include supports on both sides. Just a top and bottom layer will do. Build Time: Top Layer: The top layer will take around 4 hours to print, depending on my machine's speed and the ambient temperature in my workshop. Bottom Layer: The bottom layer will take about an hour to print, which is significantly faster than the top layer.
