Polar Finder LED

Polar Finder LED

I operate a CG-5-GT equatorial mount, and every time I need to polar align the mount, I must kneel on the floor, grasp the tripod with one hand, and use the other to point a red flashlight into the polar scope. This process is quite uncomfortable. Because I don't have a permanent observatory, I have to set up the mount every time I want to observe. To simplify things, I designed and 3D printed an adapter that holds a red LED powered by a 3V button battery and positioned in front of the polar finder. I've tested it and it works wonderfully! Now I can perform the polar alignment in a much more comfortable way.
