POLAR DRAWBOT
cults3d
This is my redesign of mechanical parts used to build a Wallmount Polar Drawbot. The electronics and firmware come from Dan Royer's "Makelangelo project," using the V1 version of Adafruit motor shield but I used an DK Electronics motor shield. I made several test trials using parts found in various projects, but none match the requirements I need to obtain. So I completely redesign all parts. Following several tests, I developed three kinds of pulley: one for smooth cords and two for synchronous transmission made with ball chains. Three types of ball chain can be used: a 3.2 mm all metal chain with a pitch of 4 mm, a 4.4 mm plastic ball and cord with a pitch of 6 mm, or a 4.4 mm plastic ball and cord with a pitch of 12 mm. As a counterweight, I use some exhausted "D" type batteries, for which I made several kinds of holder to hang them.
