NASA Space apps challenge - Printing Food in Space Project; We placed second, which we were thrilled about! I'm confident our innovative idea will become a reality. If you're eager to experiment or improve on this concept, let's dive into its design and feasibility. The project's foundation lies in polar 3D printing technology. Our machine features extruder heads that exclusively move along the z-axis while the underlying plate does the moving, passing underneath each filled head loaded with different ingredients. This configuration ultimately enables the creation of a customized recipe before finalizing the process in our built-in oven (forced air convection was my suggested method, but feel free to explore alternative approaches).
