Its length makes it the tallest Rock-type Pokémon ever recorded. It has black eyes and a rounded snout. On top of its head is a rocky spine that's perfectly suited to its rugged appearance. As it grows older, it becomes more rounded and smoother, eventually resembling black diamonds in every way. Deep inside its brain is a powerful magnet that serves as an internal compass guiding its movements. Onyx burrows underground at speeds of over 50 miles per hour, causing tremors and a deafening roar that can be heard for miles around. Hard objects encountered while digging are absorbed into its body, making it incredibly sturdy. It also feeds on the rocks themselves, which helps keep its massive structure intact. The massive tunnels Onyx creates are used as homes by Diglett, who appreciate their spacious interiors. As seen in the Pokémon Stadium series, Onyx is capable of rotating its head or any part of its body a full 360 degrees without breaking a sweat. It's a very aggressive Pokémon that will attack humans and other Pokémon whenever it's in pain, as seen in the anime. Onyx can be found in mountains and caves all over the place.
