The Bos primigenius is an extinct species of large bovid that roamed Europe during the late Pleistocene era. Its name translates to "first ox" in Latin, and it's considered one of the earliest known ancestors of domesticated cattle. Fossil evidence suggests that this massive animal stood around 2 meters tall at the shoulder and weighed between 400-800 kilograms. The Bos primigenius was a herbivore, feeding on grasses and other plant material. Its horns were large and curved, with males sporting impressive sets.
