I decided the original design by CarryTheWhat just needed some fine-tuning to make it easier to print and assemble. Print Settings Printer Brand: SeeMeCNC Printer: Rostock MAX Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.20mm Infill: 10% Notes: I used Simplify3D to determine the transition point where I switched from black to white filament was layer 35, so I paused when printing supports at layer 34. This might have been unnecessary, but I wanted to ensure a solid pin and consistent infill throughout the print. I printed with four outer shells as a standard setting. Note that S3D wouldn't automatically place support under the tip of the pin, so I manually added it. Starting with 3mm on the build platform worked well, then I added more supports underneath. How I Designed This All done in Tinkercad. First, I closed the gap in the ring since I planned to create my own pin anyway (I had actually remixed the original pin when I printed the first few awhile back). Then, I merged the ring with the bottom and designed a hinge inspired by the original, but with a smaller gap and slightly more durable pin. While working on it, I reduced the size of the button to fit snugly in its socket (no need for a heat gun or forceful persuasion now). I liked the base of another Pokeball design, so I sized my version accordingly and included it.
