This is an experimental piece that will eventually be machined on CNC machines. It's possible the threads won't align perfectly with the ultimate goal, but as it stands now, it's just an idea. To machine it doesn't matter where the thread starts because we choose where to begin. The idea is for this part to be an exhibit where weight plays a crucial role.
