I'm absolutely thrilled with my Philips Hue lamps and think it would be a real shame not to create custom lamp shades to match. Since I was due for some new fittings anyway, this project seemed like the perfect opportunity. This design marks the first of three in what I hope will become a series. I wanted to try out generating a lamp shade using geometric shapes, so I decided on a tabletop model as my starting point. The great thing about this design is that both parts can be printed at once without any support structures. Just make sure your fitting has two screws on the outside so you can secure the pieces in place between them. As an added bonus, it turns out this design looks surprisingly nice even with just the top part in place! The hole in the center of the lamp shade is 42mm in diameter to accommodate my E27 fittings. I've included the source code for your reference, so feel free to modify as needed to suit your own needs.
