Pointless Rotational to Linear Motion Machine
myminifactory
This machine is a delight to play around with. It's surprisingly functional, converting the rotational motion of its handle into smooth linear movement along its central bar. You can check out my YouTube video for step-by-step assembly instructions and some of the design tweaks I made: https://youtu.be/kA3IxCH6imI The idea behind this machine was sparked by the ingenious slotted yoke mechanism, #93 from the 507 Mechanical Movements collection (http://507movements.com/mm_093.html). I designed it using Fusion 360, sliced the parts with Ultimaker Cura, and printed them on my custom-modified Printrbot Simple Metal.
