Pohutukawa tree and rocks
sketchfab
Ancient Pohutukawa tree towers above Wairau Creek's mouth, Auckland, New Zealand's scenic coastline. A few rough patches mar this model due to the creek's proximity, limiting my photography angles severely. This test was designed to gauge how zoomed-in photos would translate into 3D models. Regrettably, I forgot to adjust camera settings, capturing 16MP images instead of the intended 4MP. Processing took longer, but added a bit more detail nonetheless. During summer's high tide, kids thrill with daredevil dives from this very tree's branches. Crumbling post foundations in the rock hint at the remnants of an old wooden footbridge that met its demise in the 1970s.
