The PodBreakout plug lets users connect an iPod's 30-pin socket to external devices, such as microcontrollers. However, its bulky shape and protruding solder terminals make it prone to damage. To address this issue, a docking port was designed that securely holds the cable and iPodTouch while maintaining accuracy in connection. The design features 1mm "mouse ears" on each corner for stability during printing and a hollow underside to reduce warping. When printed, glue the PodBreakout plug into the center recess and insert the iPodTouch before the glue dries. This ensures precise alignment for future use, while folded edges prevent the device from falling out. The assembly can also be integrated into larger projects, leaving an open socket for iPod insertion.
