PocketChip additional keyboard + Stylus pen
thingiverse
I'm working on enhancing my PocketChip, it may require significant modification to my design, I hope it won't take too long, stay tuned! I received my PocketChip from a Kickstarter campaign and even if the keyboard is usable, I decided to create an add-on to make it better. Here's my creation, made in two pieces that "assemble" and slide over the original keyboard. There are two different types, one with polyflex keys that are tight, which eliminates the clicky feeling of the keyboard (those who own a PocketChip know what I'm talking about). The feeling is quite good and brings a real convenience when playing games. The second type is made entirely of normal PLA, the keys keep their clicky feeling, but you should at least put 25% infill to avoid issues like I had with the space key. If you don't, one half will be too soft and won't work. Edit: I've created a sheet to print and paste on the keyboard, it's useful to know what keys are assigned to. It's not perfect, but I have more ease with Freecad than Gimp. Add: I've made a stylus pen that attaches to the PocketChip! Be careful not to bother the GPIO pins. If you encounter any issues, tell me and I'll change the design. Also, be aware that it may take some time to get used to placing and removing it. If you have problems with Simplify 3D to slice the stylus, follow these steps: 1) Repair-->Identify Self-Intersecting Surfaces 2) Mesh-->Separate Connected Surfaces Thanks to ClockWorkCoder for the tips! If you have suggestions to improve my creation, don't hesitate. Printer Settings: Dagoma Discovery 200 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 200µm Infill: 20% Notes: As the pieces are flat and the keys are narrow, they don't really need infill. For polyflex parts, make sure to put at least 25% infill, or you may experience issues like I did with the space key. To post-print, paste the sheet of paper and pierce it. You can find the file to print here: https://www.flickr.com/gp/paratyphi/uL22B5 I used Pritt Roller Colle Compact to stick the sheet, it's not perfect but it avoids big patches of glue. When it's in place, you'll need to pierce the holes. I used a cutter and got decent results, but you could also use a punch holder to make little circles.
