Pocket Watch Case

The Makerbot Watch's protective housing comes in two versions: one with a more polished look and refined bumpers, and another ultra-lightweight version with ribbed design. The housing is designed to shield the circuit board when not in use but can be easily opened for tinkering. Inspired by the feedstock hinge, it utilizes ABS filament as a hinge pin and has built-in bumpers for component constraint. Adding 3mm magnets enhances its robustness. For printing instructions, insert the circuit board, clean up holes on both parts, cut the filament to size, and unleash creativity. Magnets and acrylic faceplates are optional. Design files include watch top.stl, watch bottom.stl, and rev4.stl for different aesthetic preferences and 3D printing challenges. A DXF file is also provided to quantify the critical features of the parts on a 1:1 scale. Additional photos can be found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/nickstarno/sets/72157624304725027/.
