CORE SET 5: Ghouls of Pnath against the Gugs of Koth Happy Halloween, and welcome to the Fourth Edition of Pocket-Tactics, the modular, 3d-printable strategy board game. The game is played by two players, each controlling a faction of ghouls or gugs. The objective is to defeat the opposing player's units and capture their features. Components: * Game board featuring a modular map with interlocking tiles * Units representing ghouls and gugs, each with unique abilities and characteristics * Dice for resolving conflicts and determining outcomes * Tokens for tracking hazards and other effects Setup: 1. Place the game board in the middle of the playing area. 2. Shuffle the unit deck and deal 5 units to each player. 3. Each player chooses a faction (Ghouls or Gugs) and places their units on the board according to the setup instructions. Gameplay: 1. On each player's turn, they may move one unit up to three spaces. 2. A unit can move through empty spaces, but cannot move into occupied spaces unless it is an enemy unit. 3. If a unit moves into a space occupied by an enemy unit, a conflict occurs. 4. Conflicts are resolved using the dice and the unit's Offense (OFF) and Defense (DEF) values. Resolution: 1. Roll all the dice simultaneously to determine the outcome of the conflict. 2. Compare the highest OFF die result to the highest DEF die result. 3. If the OFF result is higher, the enemy unit is defeated and removed from the board. 4. If the DEF result is higher, the attacking unit is defeated and removed from the board. 5. If the results are a tie, the conflict continues until one side gains the upper hand. Hazards: 1. Some terrain tiles contain hazards that affect units moving into them. 2. Units can ignore hazard effects if they have the tile type as their favored terrain. Victory Conditions: 1. A player achieves victory when their opponent cannot activate or deploy any units. 2. Victory is also secured when a single player controls all features on the board. Types: * Human * Elf * Robot HAZARDS: * WATER: A unit moving into a Water tile must succeed at a DV 5 DEF test or be defeated immediately after doing so.
