Pocket Size Tower Solder Fume Extractor

thingiverse

A compact, handheld tower solder fume extractor that packs a powerful punch for its tiny size. Despite its small stature, this device has a robust structure designed to effectively extract solder fumes. You're right; solder fumes can pose serious health risks, making it highly recommended to use a fume extractor when soldering. Fortunately, there are numerous options available, and I'm excited to share my DIY solder fume extractor design with you. To get started, gather the following materials: * A 12V DC blower cooling fan (available at https://goo.gl/sfwb9a) * Two M4*20 screws and nuts (accessible at https://goo.gl/UfsrLU) * An active carbon filter (found at https://goo.gl/VdsVeB) Once you have these components, follow these simple steps: 1. Print the body of the fume extractor. 2. Cut two carbon filter dimensions to 35x75mm and insert them into the body. To secure them in place, attach a cotton or paper towel sheet behind each filter or roll up a large filter and position it inside. 3. Attach the blower fan to the body using the M4*20 screws and nuts. 4. Your fume extractor is now ready for use. For mobile operation, consider adding a 12V booster (like the one found at https://goo.gl/BDFTc2) and connecting it to your power bank.
