Pocket grapple design based on a YouTube video I witnessed. Its purpose is to hang from a cord for picking up small items, also serving as an effective fidget tool. Version two is my own redesign, featuring a more steam-punk aesthetic. It's designed to be printed at 0.25mm layer height. I have strengthened the screws by updating them to be partially threaded, ensuring greater durability. A new version now includes a hollow screw for accommodating a cord in place of the U-strap. The holes at the tip of the hook are intended for attaching a small lead weight or BB for added weight. The assembled model is merely an example and not designed for actual printing. While vertically printed screws have their advantages, they lack strength. If you have 6mm nylon screws available, I highly recommend using them. Print Settings: Printer: Micromake D1 Rafts: No Raft Required Supports: None Needed Resolution: 0.25mm Layer Height Infill: 20% Density Notes: You'll need to run the screws through a die or metal nut to clean up the threads, just like you would with threaded holes. Investing in a $12 tap & die set from Harbor Freight can significantly simplify 3D printing threaded parts. Inside threaded holes are remarkably strong, but bolts and screws remain relatively weak. Printing the screws with 100% infill has yielded the best results for me.
