VERY FIRST i want to thank the other designers whos items i used to create some very important base parts in this kit. This kit is inspired by the need to have a nice small sized on the go excavation kit for rock/gem/treasure digs. Couldn't find a pocket sized kit, so i put one together. this kit is perfect for home school, class room, on the go adventures, birthday party goodie bags and also for anyone who loves excavating rocks and small treasures. you can print the kit up all at once with 1 file or print up just parts of the kit. all kit parts are set up for minimal filament wastage. if you want wooden tools: you will need a 1inch wide by 1 inch thick dowel piece for the mallet head and a smaller thinner dowel for the handle (about 3.5 inches in length/ the length of your index finger is about perfect). Drill a hole the same size as smaller dowel in mallet head( about a half inch deep), add some wood or craft glue and shove the handle into the hole you drilled, let dry and presto. The smaller dowel can also be used to make chisel tools along with chop sticks and or skewer sticks. dowel, chop stick and skewer ends and be sanded or whittled to obtain the shape(s) you desire. i have resized the tweezers to fit into an altoids tin or any such similar sized box or container. the mallet is the only tool that needs supports to print. the only tools missing are a tiny magnifying glass and a small paintbrush for brushing away dirt. I create my dig blocks using the recipe from www.excavating adventures.com
