Pocket Cube Extensions
thingiverse
These printable extensions transform a standard 19 mm size 3x3x3 Rubik's cube into a Pocket Cube, an extended version of a "lines and quads" bandaged cube. Two versions are included. The offset files feature extensions that completely cover the cube, making all surfaces identical in material and color for painting or potentially creating a stickerless version. However, this comes at the cost of a small 2x2x2 section being slightly out of proportion. This should be somewhat visible in the example images provided. The Flush version does not use thin caps, extending only where necessary, and maintaining cube proportions. Exposed bandaged pieces will require filling in crevices. This is the preferred version if you plan to paint it black and add stickers afterwards. Offset print: OffsetCenterCap x 3 OffsetCornerCap x 3 OffsetEdgeCap x 6 OffsetCornerExt x 1 OffsetLineExt x 3 OffsetQuadExt x 3 Flush print: FlushCornerExt x 1 FlushLineExt x 3 FlushQuadExt x 3 Due to slight variations in printer tolerances and cube sizes, it is recommended to print one of the larger extension pieces and fit it to your cube. If it seems to rub against other pieces as you turn it, shrink all models down by a very small percentage (~1% or less).
