Pocket Clippy Mask Band
thingiverse
A design for ear savers which seeks to incorporate the following functional goals: * Attach securely to one ear loop so as to prevent falling off when adjusting fit * Allow mask to be clipped to fabric hems to avoid setting mask down on contaminated surfaces and/or shoving masks into pockets (causing damage over time) * Use thick lines and a curvy form factor to accommodate fat nozzle diameters without needing to fuss too much with slicer settings * Permit a dual-color design (because colors are fun) by means of a simple filament swap, while ensuring the band will not lose function should the second color disadhere * Allow multiple bands to be combined in various interesting ways * Maintain reasonable strength with only a few layers of PLA or PETG * Work reasonably well with both surgical masks and the generic white fabric masks common around Seattle And here we are. I've been printing these in various colors (it's a nice way to use up near-empty rolls) and dispensing them in packs of 50 to whoever looks like they might like some. They've been a lot more popular than I expected so I'm uploading here for ease of stl dispersal. One downside of the design is that it doesn't tessellate particularly well. With the included multi-band plates however I've had pretty consistent times of 40min per 20 bands using the pause-at-height method of filament change, which is plenty fast enough for me. Included in the files is the instructions pdf I've been printing out and including with each 50-pack. It would be cool if you could change my email address to yours before passing out to random strangers, but honestly I don't care all that much, so just go ahead and use it unedited if that's easier.
