Pneumatic MMU2 Pulley Body

Pneumatic MMU2 Pulley Body

thingiverse

This is a modified Prusa MMU2 pulley body design that eliminates the cumbersome 5 PTFE block locking mechanism. This new design employs five E3D V6 compatible pass-through pneumatic connectors for enhanced assembly and jam clearing ease. These connectors are readily available and should be easy to locate. Accurate alignment of the connectors may require some effort, but once properly lined up, they should screw in effortlessly. To avoid damaging printed plastic threads, it's crucial not to over tighten them. Fortunately, testing has shown that these connectors hold well despite this limitation. It is essential to fully insert the PTFE tubes, as they can be somewhat tight initially. This slight resistance is normal and does not affect overall performance. In contrast to the original design, access holes for hinge bearing pins are no longer present in this modified version. To address this issue, I have adjusted the pin's depth so that they do not extend flush with the outer surface. The screws used to secure these pins now only go in until the end of each pin, allowing easy removal from the outside using pliers if necessary. However, users must exercise caution when pushing the pins into place to avoid over-insertion. Notably, this design has been successfully printed with a 0.4 mm nozzle without issues. A revised version (0.2) features slight improvements: a larger post for hinge pin insertion, slightly enlarged "after gear" hole for better filament feeding, and added holes facilitating the use of small alan wrenches to remove square nuts from their respective holes. These changes aim to enhance usability and facilitate easy upgrades to this design.
