Pneumatic Gripper

Pneumatic Gripper

grabcad

A pneumatic gripper, a type of pneumatic actuator, features parallel or angular motion surfaces, commonly referred to as "tooling jaws or fingers," for gripping objects. Combined with other pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic components, the gripper becomes part of a "pick and place" system in manufacturing systems, enabling the picking up and placement of components. Some grippers apply force directly via air pressure, while others leverage mechanisms such as gears or toggles. The opening size, applied force, and gripping surface shape—or "tooling jaws or fingers"—vary among grippers, which can handle objects ranging from tiny transistors to large engine blocks. Grippers are often added to industrial robots for enhanced object interaction.
