Pneumatic Forging Hammer
grabcad
A pneumatic forging hammer, operated by one person, utilises a foot pedal to activate its piston's up-and-down motion. The air between the ram and piston ensures a controlled, damped movement of the ram. Adjusting the air volume in both chambers allows precise force control; technical data includes an approximately 200 kg ram weight, a 15:1 anvil/ram ratio, and a max transmission speed of 150RPM. Built in Austria in 1921, this hammer has been non-operational since 1965.
